Tripura Sundari Ashtakam

Background

Shiva is Energy.

Three eyes of Shiva, the energy are the three sources of energy external to all matter forms. They are Dark Energy that expands the Universe, Cosmic Microwave Background that radiates over the Universe's space and Vacuum energy that fills the otherwise empty space. These three are the three eyes or sources of Shiva, the energy.

Tripura- Sundari

The energy that fills up the matter forms, as their 'internal energy' is Easwari. This internal energy is made of Potential (Uma) energy and Kinetic (durgA) energy. This internal energy that fills the matter forms is also called 'nArAyaNi' because it has 2 components that are 'Usable' (Lakshmi) that becomes energy of matter forms and 'Unsuable' (Sarasvati) that becomes entropy of matter forms.

Same way, the energy that fills the 3 dimensions of the four dimensional space is called tri-pura-sundari. It is the vacuum energy as in modern science.  Since the vacuum energy makes the otherwise empty space beautiful by being the bearer of all the Universe, it is described as 'Sundari'. Hence the name 'tripura-sundari'.

The vacuum energy fills the empty space in 3 dimensions of Universe's four dimensional spacetime, dances at will bringing up particle-antiparticle pairs, thereby originating particles which interact with Higgs field producing matter forms with mass, thus 'bearing' all the Universe, while remaining dissolved in the empty space, not getting aged at all like a forever young girl, underneath of all matter and biological forms of the Universe, while these forms grow old and die.

Raja-Rajeswari

As this vacuum energy 'bears' the matter forms with internal energy (easwari) and thus rules the 'easwari' herself, it is called 'Rajeswari' or 'Raja Raja easwari'.

Lalita

As this vacuum energy plays or oscillates or produces excitations at its will, all the time producing particles-antiparticles which submerge back in it, she is called 'lalita' the playful or 'lalita tripura sundari', the playing/oscillating vacuum energy.

Daughter of 'Snowy mountain'

The temperature of this vacuum energy is below zero kelvin, which is picturized as 'snowy' or extremely cold. As this vacuum energy keeps oscillating, it produces 'huge peaks of mountains', which are the snowy mountains.

Kameswari

Due to constant excitations being produced from it, it is called kAmeswari. 

Sri-Vidhya

Since this vacuum energy causes the energy and entropy of matter forms, it is Sri/Lakshmi Vidhya/Saraswati.

Iconography of Tripura Sundari

Since all the divinities of the Universe (Rudra the force-fields, Brahma the expanding space, Vishnu the mass, Karthikeya the Heat, Ganapati the work done, Lakshmi the matter forms, Sarasvati the entropy etc etc) all evolve on top this Lalita tri-pura sundari, they are depicted around Lalita Tripura Sundari. 

Since Shiva is Energy and Tripura Sundari is vacuum energy spread all over the space, she is shown on top of a lying down Shiva

Bandasura

Banda means maimed, crippled, impotent. Bandasura is one that maims, cripples, renders impotent. Lalita Tripura sundari, the vacuum energy, due to its nature of excitation, overcomes this crippling/impotent causing asura, brings out excitations breaking potential barriers, manifesting particles. It is said that Tripura-sundari overcame bandasura with Kameswara-astra.

Daughter of mataMga muni

'mataMga' means one who moves at will. Since vacuum energy oscillates or moves at will, lalitha tripura-sundari is described as daughter of mataMga muni.

Tri-locani kudumbini

Since vacuum energy is part of the family of three sources of energy external to matter forms (Dark energy, Cosmic microwave background, Vacuum energy), tripura sundari is described as belonging to family of three-eyed.

Shodasi

Tripura-Sundari is called Shodasi, the sixteenth. Universe evolves out of five mahA-yajnas. (pancha-maha-yajna). In each yajna, sattva, rajas, tamas manifests. There are 15 such attributes. At the center of it is the 16th, the vacuum energy, denoted by a 'bindu', a dot.

On the shodasi, the 16th, the vacuum energy manifests energy, entropy, mass. On the massive matter forms evolves Adityam, Candram, Krishnam. (sun, moon, earth). On Earth evolves Tejas, Apa, Annam (fire, water, food). On Annam, the food evolves Udbhijam, andajam, jivajam. On the Jivajam evolves manas, prAna and vAk.   vAk is speech, the expression of knowledge, the final frontier of evolution as of now.

Kadamba vana

Kadamba is a tree with dense, globe shaped flower-clusters, blossoming all over the tree. Universe is like a forest of Kadamba trees with dense globe shaped clusters of matter forms appearing all over its vast expanse. 

Carini is one who moves inside. One who moves inside of these globe-shaped clusters of matter forms, giving rise to them is the vacuum energy. Hence Tripura sundari is called Kadamba vana carini

Summary of Tripura sundari ashtakam

The empty space of Universe is like Kadamba vana, sporting globe shaped clusters all over its expanse. This empty space or vacuum can also be visualized as the Ocean/waters of energy (ambu) which holds the blossoming of various matter forms in the Universe. 

Tripura-Sundari is the ocean of vacuum energy that moves inside/under the forest of globe shaped clusters of matter forms of Universe, to which all divinities of Universe submit. It is the energy dissolved in the waters/ocean of vacuum as well as the luster of those that arise from these waters/ocean of vacuum.

Living inside the forest of globe shaped clusters, giving them the basic foundational note like a vallaki, wearing precious matter forms as garland, excitations becoming her face, the 'daya' through which creation happens, the energy source that moves uncontaminated by any other evolution as it is inside the ocean of waters (the vacuum) is tripura sundari, the vacuum energy. Surrender to her.

Excitations all over the space looks like reddish cheeks. Expressions that arise out of these excitations are the sweet song. Blue clouds that arise out of these expressions are the body. Due to guru krpa, from inside the waters (ocean of vacuum energy) mountains (peaks of excitations) arise as shores bearing garland of light, like huge breasts. All around is the play of this tripura-sundari, the ocean of vacuum energy.  

Moving amidst the forest of globe shaped clusters,  situated as the golden region between these clusters, residing in six energy forms, always lighting up actions, disguised like the 'ruci' of japa, though being the best of shining moons is tripura-sundari, the ocean of vacuum energy.

The six energy forms in the globe-shaped clusters of the Universe that light up actions in the shores of globe-shaped clusters that arise out of the ocean of vacuum energy (the waters), are Nuclear, Gravitational, Electromagnetic radiation, Mechanical, Chemical energy in the molecular bonds, Electrical energy in the atomic binding between protons and electrons.

Expression of her breasts are the pancha-bhutas (vipancika) that decorate over her like tresses of hair. They reside and rule in kusa grass,  going around any opposition, river of her excitations being the source, tripura sundari is like the mohini hidden in the manas, who moves at will, surrender to her sweet expressions.

Bears the first excitations that flower (off the ocean of vacuum energy), spread like blood all over the space, tripura sundari, the ocean of vacuum energy is the vessel that captures forces of decay and shakes them off with glance/corner of the eye, the darkness whose breast clouds ooze spikes (that give rise to matter forms on top of ocean of vacuum energy)

Hence tripuar sundari, the ocean of vacuum energy can be visualized as a young child (never ages unlike matter forms) with kasturi fragrance, ever smiling (underlying everything), with kumuma smeared all over the body (excitations all over), holding bow, arrow and noose, wearing a red garland, 

The tresses of hair of tripura-sundari are the pancha-bhutas created by Indra. The decorations of tripura-sundari are the precious matter forms, the Lakshmi. The frangrance of tripura-sundari is Sarasvati, the knowledge o entropy or information content.

We surrender to this tripura -sundari, the ocean of vacuum energy filling the three dimensional space and invoke that energy in us, so that Indra's wife (health), Mukunda's wife (wealth) and Brahma's wife (knowledge) manifest in us.

kadamba vana carinim muni kadamba kadambinim
nitamba jita bhudharam sura nitambini sevitam ।
navamburuha locanam abhinavaambuda syamalam
trilocana kutumbinim tripurasundarim asraye ॥ 1॥

அண்டங்களின் அசைவு நீ முனிவர்களின் முனைப்பு நீ 
முகடுகளின் பந்தம் நீ பெரும் சூரரும் பணியும் நீ 
நீரெழுந்த மலரொளிநீ நீரில் கரைந்த காரிருள் நீ 
முக்கண் குடி மங்கைநீ த்ரிபுரசுந்தரியே சரண்


Moving inside (carini) of globe-shaped clusters of the Universe's empty space (kadamba vana), sprouting (kadambini) impulses (muni) of the Universe's empty space (kadamba), bearing the matter forms (bhu-dhara) winning over the slopes / hips (nitamba jita) submission (suras in the slopes (sura nitambini) the waters that give rise to shining lotus (navamburuha locanam) the darkness (shyamalam) young (dissolved) giving the waters (abhinva ambuda)  Surrender to tripurasunadri the family of trilocana, the three-eyed.

Moving inside the forest of globe shaped clusters, sprouting impulses,  winning over the slopes/hips, bearing the matter forms (earth), to which the Suras submit, the luster of those that arise out of waters (ocean of vacuum), the darkness of the waters (ocean of vacuum) is the tripura sundari, (the vacuum energy in the empty space), belonging to the family of three-eyed, surrender to her.

அண்டங்களில் வசிப்பவளே ஆதார ஸ்ருதி தருபவளே
அரும்பொருள் உன் மாலையே முகம் ஒளிர்விடும் ஜ்வாலையே
அருளால் எங்கும் ஆக்குமே களங்கமற்ற உன் கண்ணசைவே
முக்கண் குடி மங்கை நீ த்ரிபுரசுந்தரியே சரண்

அண்டங்களே உன் வீடுதான் ஒளிப்பால் நீ தரும் பேறுதான்

Residing in the forest of globe shaped clusters (kadamba vana alaya), breasts bearing garlands of light (kuca bhara ullasan malaya) situated as shore by guru krpa (guru krpala sad velaya) the heavy mountain like breasts (kuca upamita sailaya)  excited reddish cheeks (mad aruna kapolaya) the expressions of Universe are her sweet song (madhura gita vacalaya) blue clouds her body (kaya api ghana nilaya) armoring us is your play (kavacita vayam lilaya)

Residing in the forest of globe shaped clusters, mountains like breasts (excitations) situated as shore (in the ocean of vacuum energy) by guru krpa, bearing garlands of light,  these excitations looking like reddish cheeks, all (universe's) expressions being sweet song, blue clouds (of the universe) being the body, her play armors/covers us all around.

அண்டங்களின் இடையே நீ சூழ்ந்திருக்கும் பொன்னான மேனி 
ஆறு வசிப்பிடமுள்ள நீ ஒளிர்ந்திடும் காரிய சித்தி
ஓதும் மந்த்ர சுவையே நீ பளபளக்கும் முழுமதி 
முக்கண் குடி மங்கை நீ த்ரிபுரசுந்தரியே சரண்

Moving amidst the forest of globe shaped clusters (kadamba vana madhya gam) situated as the golden mandala (kanaka mandala upasthitam) residing in six forms that arise out of the ocean of vacuum (sad amburuha vasinim) always lightning up actions (satata siddha saudaminim) disguised as the 'ruci' of japa (vidambit japa rucim) the best of the shining moons (vikaca candra cudamani)

Breasts express vipancika (kuca ancita vipancika), decorate like curved tresses of hair (kutila kuntala alamkrtam) Residing /ruling in the kusa grass (kusa isaya nivasinim) curves around opposition (kutila cita vidvesinim). முதல் காம கணை தாங்கி நீலவெளி குருதியாய் பரவி
மயக்கங்களை ஈர்த்தேந்தி கடைக்கண்ணால் அவை அகற்றி
மேகக்கூட்டம் போல் பாலூட்டி கருக்கள் உருவாக்கும் கருமை நீ 
முக்கண் குடி மங்கை நீ த்ரிபுரசுந்தரியே சரண்

The first flower of manmatha (smara prathama puspinim) the blood dots of the blue sky (rudhira bindu nilambaram) the vessel that captures the madhu/decay (grhita madhu patrikam) shakes them off with corner of the eye (mada vighurna netra ancalam) clouds like heavy breasts (ghana stana bhara unnatam) oozing/dropping spikes (galita culikam syamalam)

குங்குமம் தெளித்த தேகம் குழந்தையின் கஸ்தூரி வாசம்
மந்தகாச சிரிப்போடும் ஏந்தி வில் அம்பு பாசாங்குசம்
மீதமில்லா மனம் கவர்ந்து உதய சிவப்பு மாலை இட்டு
மந்த்ரம் ஓத நீ மலர்ந்து எண்ணத்தில் எழுவாய் அம்பிகா


Smeared with kumkum (sa kumkuma vilepana) kasturi fragrance of eight to ten year old girl (alaka cumbi kasturikam) seen with a mandahasa smile (sa mandahasa iti iksanam) with bow, arrow, pasangusam (sa sara capa pasangusam) attracting/covering without remainder (everything) (asesa jana mohinim) wearing dawn-red  garland in the Universe's space (aruna malya bhusambaram) blossoms bright by japa (japa kusuma bhasuram) remembered as ambika by japa (japa vidhau smaramy  ambika)

With kumkuma smeared all over,with kasturi fragrance of a young child, seen with a mandahasa smile, with bow, arrow and pasangusa, covering everything without a remainder, wearing them as dawn-red garland all over the universe's space, remembered as ambika by Japa.

puramdara puramdhrikam cikura bandha sairamdhrikam
pitamaha pativratam patapatiracarcaratam ।
mukunda ramani manila sad alamkriyakarinim
bhajami bhuvanambikam sura vadhutika cetikam ॥ 8॥

இந்த்ரனின் மனைவியும் உன் கூந்தல் பின்னி பிணைத்திட
பிரம்மனின் மனைவியும் சந்தனம் அரைத்து பூசிட
முகுந்தனின் மனைவியும் அழக லங்காரம் செய்திட
தேவ தேவியர் பணிந்திட நான் வணங்கும் புவனாம்பிகா 

Wife of Indra (puraMdara puramdrikam) ties the hair as a menial servant (cikura bandha sairamdhrikam) Wife of pitamaha brahma (pitamaha pativrata) grinds sandal paste (pata patira carca ratam) Wife of mukunda is the reason for your alangara (mukunda ramani manila sad alamkriya karinim) Serve/worship/invoke that bhuvanmbika (bhajami bhuvanambika) surrounded/served by wife of sura (sura vadhutika cetikam)

Indra's wife ties the hair, Brahma's wife anoints sandal paste, Mukuda's wife is the reason for your alamkara. Invoke/workship that bhuvana-ambika surrounded/served by wife of these Suras.

Tripura sundari is the vacuum energy that fills the empty space or vacuum.
